Four marks for the watch.
Varða is a cairn: stones stacked up so the next traveler can find the way. All four marks here are built from real things: runes, the octagonal AT field, Fort Williams and Portland Head Light.
The wordmark is Heros Condensed Bold, which has a real Ð (U+00D0): VARÐA. The Mincho subset doesn’t, so it never gets to fake the letter.
Recommended / AThe thorn cairn is the clearest at 16 px, and it’s the one built from the name: the rune for the Ð sound becomes the cairn.
Thorn cairn
A long-branch ᚦ rises from three courses of stone. The rune carries both þ and ð in Younger Futhark, so the Ð in VARÐA is the waymark.

R / I bind-rune
Elder Futhark Raidō ᚱ and Isa ᛁ share one stave. Orange carries Raidō, the rune for a ride, and the red vertical spells out Isa. The broken octagon corners make it look like something an agency would issue.

The whole name
The mark spells VARÐA as ᚢᛅᚱᚦᛅ. In the 16-rune Younger Futhark, úr ᚢ carries the v sound and þurs ᚦ carries ð. The inscription sits over two courses of stone, and the runes are all real.

Portland signal
Portland Head Light stands on the Fort Williams ledge and throws a red beam through a broken field. The header notation uses its real characteristic, Fl W 4s: one white flash every four seconds.
